My Story

PictureLooking for a good landscape background
I spent my early years living in Germany next to an Air Force Base, and sit and watch the planes flying overhead.

While studying fine arts in college my interest in painting airplanes grew, as I loved to attend airshow in my free time and spent time returning to Germany improving my colorist skills. I love the fantastical adventures children associated with these planes.

I want nothing more for my children than for them to draw their imaginary friends on their bedroom walls and imagine and believe. I hope to translate that wonderment into my art.

PictureManager "husband" Solomon, and family.
My husband takes care of the business side of Tami's Gallery. He did a tour in Afghanistan as an Infantry Officer and has worked in the corporate world, having served in various executive positions during his career. He has been a great foundation to Tami's Gallery bringing his experience coupled with his MBA from top tiered IE University, Madrid, Spain.

Sol is my number one fan, supporting me through my early art career as I progressed  working and partnering with charities, corporations, private clients and many others.

This is what takes place in my studio and paintings. In my gallery you can see all the finished paintings but here you can see the works in progress.

Few projects in the works.

A Gun with Wings

PictureA gun with wings
This A-10 is one of my largest paintings yet. This is in one of the earliest stages, I've barely begun to cover the under painting and I've had realigned this guy's shark face a couple times.

As I've begun this painting I've actually been learning quite a bit about the A-10 and it's a really COOL airplane. It's basically a giant gun with an airplane built around it.

Savannah Smiles

PictureSavannah Smiles
Currently I'm preparing for Oshkosh and putting out quite a bit of new work. This tail is one of the most recent ones that I've been working on. I'm going to call it "Savannah Smiles".

Savannah is the name of a little girl who smiles and the birds   sing. The little girl for whom this painting will be named loves running barefoot through the grass and covered in Sunshine. That's what this plane reminds me of, little Savannah's smile as she runs over the green field smiling and giggling as we try to catch her.

Fire Flower

I love painting details. If you look close at my paintings you'll see a lot of detail that from far off looks like the texture of the paint. The fireworks (fire flowers) in the background have been very tedious to paint. It doesn't show well in a cell phone snap shot (right) but in the finished painting and final print it's easy to stare at these fire flowers in the back ground and see each one of the hundred of thin, transparent layers used to create the textured background.
