There is a book series, The Wheel of Time, written mostly by Robert Jordan, which has character named Hopper. Hopper is a wolf who got his name because when he was a pup he would see the Eagles fly overhead and try to hop into the air and fly with them so the other wolves started calling him Hopper. When we brought home our Collie mix puppy from the shelter we would laugh at the way he would bark and jump after anything that flew, birds, kites, and Cessna's from the airport down the road. Just like that wolf pup he earned the name Hopper. Our Hopper is pure eagerness and excitement. "Flight of the Hopper" is about the puppy-like excitement that comes the moment your paws leave the ground.
